Are You a Siren or a Mermaid?

Self-awareness is one of the rarest quality that you could find in someone. I don’t know the exact reason for this but I have seen that some personality types are naturally more self-aware than others. You might feel sad for yourself if you are not but hey everything has pros and cons. Being too much self-aware causes more harm than good.

The reason I say this is because I am just too much self-aware of myself and so whenever I know that someone is watching what I am doing then I tend to underperform in that particular thing. I have tried a lot to improve upon it but it just doesn’t seems to work. By the way I am an INFJ and I don’t know how to overcome this. There are also other types who lack it completely. In fact I would say most of the people don’t do it and this is why there is so much chaos in the world.

There is greed, injustice and cheating going on all over the world. One of the prime reasons which I think behind all this is lack of introspection. People don’t reflect on what they are doing. They would never question any the societal norms, their favorite political parties, the brands which they use the product or service of, and even themselves. It is sad to see that due to this lack of introspection the world is heading where the brands, political parties and other powerful people want them to be. We don’t realize the fact that they just want their profits. They don’t care about us.

I am not saying everyone is like this but yeah a majority is like this.I hope you liked my short article. If you have any further insights into the topic then feel free to share it down in the comments section below. Play the quiz as well and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.

“The difference between my darkness and your darkness is that I can look at my own badness in the face and accept its existence while you are busy covering your mirror with a white linen sheet. The difference between my sins and your sins is that when I sin I know I’m sinning while you have actually fallen prey to your own fabricated illusions. I am a siren, a mermaid; I know that I am beautiful while basking on the ocean’s waves and I know that I can eat flesh and bones at the bottom of the sea. You are a white witch, a wizard; your spells are manipulations and your cauldron from hell yet you wrap yourself in white and wear a silver wig.”

“If you swim effortlessly in the deep oceans, ride the waves to and from the shore, if you can breathe under water and dine on the deep treasures of the seas; mark my words, those who dwell on the rocks carrying nets will try to reel you into their catch. The last thing they want is for you to thrive in your habitat because they stand in their atmosphere where they beg and gasp for some air.”
― C. JoyBell C.

“There’s always a siren, singing you to shipwreck. Some of us may be more susceptible than others are, but there’s always a siren. It may be with us all our lives, or it may be many years or decades before we find it or it finds us. But when it does find us, if we’re lucky we’re Odysseus tied up to the ship’s mast, hearing the song with perfect clarity, but ferried to safety by a crew whose ears have been plugged with beeswax. If we’re not at all lucky, we’re another sort of sailor stepping off the deck to drown in the sea.”
― Caitlín R. Kiernan, The Drowning Girl

“In your life, right here and now, things like mermaids, fairies, witches and monsters are nothing but fairytales told to your grandchildren and stories you heard from your own grandparents as children. They exist only in your imagination. Did you ever think that there is a chance all this was once real, that it all existed? Perhaps yes, but you would then consider such thoughts irrational, that even if you were to believe it and try telling someone they would think you for mad. In my world those creatures are real – I’m real, and I am here to tell you of a story that happened in eons past in the majestic island of Aster.” – Queen of Merfolk Asteria – Ninemia”
