Can You Pass This Sociopath Test?

Sociopaths are quite interesting creatures. It is estimated that around 4% of Americans are sociopaths. However, I was not able to find any credible information for other countries.

Let us discuss a few facts about them.

1. The number one profession attracts the sociopaths and psychopaths the most are CEOs.

2. While most of the criminals have family, religious beliefs as the reason behind committing a crime, sociopaths mostly do it for basic needs like food, sex and money.

3. Sociopaths are very hard to spot since they can easily fake human emotions. Mostly they seem very normal from the outside but can be the most notorious people from inside. It takes quite a bit of familiarizing with them before you get to know their actual self.

4. You will often find them doing things for the rush of danger. They might do many of the things that are generally considered as a crime like stealing, driving recklessly, and many more.

5. Common people are generally very stressed in their lives. While sociopaths are at the opposite extreme. They never get anxious or stressed about almost anything on the planet.

6. Many of the people who have met socio or psychopaths have said that there is something very attractive about them. It might be physically or charismatically but there is something in them.

7. Males are 10 times more likely to be psychopaths than females.

There are many other interesting facts about sociopaths but sociopathy in general is very less understood. The reason why sociopaths behave this way is for the fact that they mostly treat humans as objects. For several different reasons, they are not empathetic towards others. They almost emotionally destroy other people who come in contact with them. While the normal people might consider it as a very serious offense sociopath almost do it on a regular basis.

“i think the idea of a ‘mental health day’ is something completely invented by people who have no clue what it’s like to have bad mental health. the idea that your mind can be aired out in twenty-four hours is kind of like saying heart disease can be cured if you eat the right breakfast cereal. mental health days only exist for people who have the luxury of saying ‘i don’t want to deal with things today’ and then can take the whole day off, while the rest of us are stuck fighting the fights we always fight, with no one really caring one way or another, unless we choose to bring a gun to school or ruin the morning announcements with a suicide.”

“About a third of my cases are suffering from no clinically definable neurosis, but from the senselessness and emptiness of their lives. This can be defined as the general neurosis of our times.”
― Carl Gustav Jung

“Feelings don’t try to kill you, even the painful ones. Anxiety is a feeling grown too large. A feeling grown aggressive and dangerous. You’re responsible for its consequences, you’re responsible for treating it. But…you’re not responsible for causing it. You’re not morally at fault for it. No more than you would be for a tumor.”
― Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here

“Lunatics are similar to designated hitters. Often an entire family is crazy, but since an entire family can’t go into the hospital, one person is designated as crazy and goes inside. Then, depending on how the rest of the family is feeling that person is kept inside or snatched out, to prove something about the family’s mental health.”
― Susanna Kaysen, Girl, Interrupted: Screenplay based on the book

“Our society tends to regard as a sickness any mode of thought or behavior that is inconvenient for the system and this is plausible because when an individual doesn’t fit into the system it causes pain to the individual as well as problems for the system. Thus the manipulation of an individual to adjust him to the system is seen as a cure for a sickness and therefore as good.”
