It is indeed true that people with an IQ higher than the average are expected to be extraordinary and are seen as people with an upper hand in several aspects. Not only are they expected to have higher educational attainment but are also to have better jobs and higher income level. But what majority of people don’t know is that the higher the IQ level, the higher are the chances of being prone to various mental and immunological diseases like ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder as well as allergies, asthma and other immune disorders. And a new research in the journal intelligence which reviews the literature and explores various mechanisms which elaborate about this connection.
Research involved data of 3,715 members of the American Mensa Society which was collected in order to evaluate the prevalence of several disorders in those with higher intelligence compared to the average population.
