How many boys want to kiss you?

Memories of first kisses always remain with us. We tend to remember our surrounding during that time, our partner, and many other fine details which we might not remember of some other event. Sadly, there are a very few studies regarding kissing in general, let alone the first kiss. There are many songs, movies which perfectly depict the importance of the first kiss. Many people get the idea of it, either from their peers or the media.

It is seen that those who are extroverted are more likely to have their first kiss at an earlier age. It is because they feel more confident socially but they are also more prone to risk-taking behaviors. Introverts on the other hand have the same feeling but they have a very hard time expressing themselves. The first kiss also helps in exploring one’s sexuality without undergoing risky behaviors. It is seen that most of the people go for the first kiss under peer pressure. This is where it gets a bit risky because kissing is very intimate and it sparks feelings for the other person even if there was nothing but physical attraction.

At a young age, adolescents have a very hard time controlling their emotions and most of the time they will have a crush on someone. They do want to get their first kiss for them because it will validate their feelings by the other person. Though there is nothing wrong in it as it is a common case during that age. It may turn to harassment if the other person is simply not interested. It has also been found that those who are higher on the trait neuroticism are more likely to avoid their first kiss for a very long time. Also, people pursuing their degree more sincerely are very less likely to engage in kissing at an early age. Though you can argue that a person starts to know their bodies better once they start engaging in these activities. They also have the advantage of being safe, unlike other adult activities.

“I guess it’s time.”
While Cress’s thoughts continued to churn through the horrible things that could happen to her, she felt herself being suddenly spun around and dipped backward, a supportive arm scooping beneath her back. She yelped and caught herself on Thorne’s shoulder.
Then he was kissing her.”
― marissa meyer, Cress

“It was at first almost as if he hadn’t wanted to kiss her. His mouth was hard on hers, unyielding; then he put both arms around her and pulled her against him. His lips softened. She could feel the rapid beat of his heart, taste the sweetness of apples still on his mouth. She wound her hands into his hair, as she’d wanted to do since the first time she’d seen him. His hair curled around her fingers, silky and fine. Her heart was hammering, and there was a rushing sound in her ears, like beating wings”
― Cassandra Clare

“I started to kiss him back, slower and clumsy where his had been sure, practiced. I was worried I was doing it wrong, but then a deep sound came from him, almost a growl and instinctively I
knew it was a sound of approval.”
― J. Lynn, Wait for You

“I love you Anna Covey,’ he said, his voice barely audible. And slowly, clumsily, he leant forward, and his lips found hers, and Anna felt him kiss her awkwardly, she knew that she wasn’t a Surplus any more. And nor was Peter.”
― Gemma Malley, The Declaration

“A breeze blows up, touching my cheek like a little child’s kiss. It flutters a piece of paper. “Trash, out there? Must belong to one of us.” We move closer, and when I reached for it, I find…… a perfect paper airplane.”
― Ellen Hopkins
