What Good And Bad Personality Mixture Do You Have?

An overwhelming majority of all the people on Earth look at every other person or situation as either good or bad. White or black. It is a very dangerous perspective. A simple fact is that reality is almost always somewhere in between. It happens because our brain tries to avoid complexity. Analyzing the pros and cons, negatives and positives is really complex and more often than not you will have to dig deeper in order to accurately predict the truth.

Digging deeper takes a lot of your brain’s horsepower and hence the brain avoids it as much as possible.Generally speaking, people will both possess evil and good qualities. Though good and evil is also a very subjective topic you could look at it from the morality perspective. People don’t often realize this truth of themselves ever in their life.

It is harming since those people are more likely to look at other people with the same lens. Now when we interact with our reality in this way we often get biased which could prove harmful later. Many don’t realize this and try to oversimplify reality.

There is practically no way to get over this other than to question everything you know. You could not acquire this skill overnight. It will only come with maturity. Since people have a very tunneled vision they understand that truth only when they go through life experiences. Though there is nothing wrong in learning with life but the problem is that those experiences often come in the form of trauma or heart-ache.

Recovering from those traumatic events often becomes even more difficult and painful. People often have to undergo several therapy sessions to get to the root of that problem. This perception of good and bad had also come from movies. Right from childhood, we get into this habit of categorizing good and bad. It also has its root from religious texts. Almost, all of the religions have something directly creating to this concept. This has proved nothing but disastrous. Let us see when will people get over it.

“I feel too much. That’s what’s going on.’ ‘Do you think one can feel too much? Or just feel in the wrong ways?’ ‘My insides don’t match up with my outsides.’ ‘Do anyone’s insides and outsides match up?’ ‘I don’t know. I’m only me.’ ‘Maybe that’s what a person’s personality is: the difference between the inside and outside.’ ‘But it’s worse for me.’ ‘I wonder if everyone thinks it’s worse for him.’ ‘Probably. But it really is worse for me.”
― Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.”

“I used to think that finding the right one was about the man having a list of certain qualities. If he has them, we’d be compatible and happy. Sort of a checkmark system that was a complete failure. But I found out that a healthy relationship isn’t so much about sense of humor or intelligence or attractive. It’s about avoiding partners with harmful traits and personality types. And then it’s about being with a good person. A good person on his own, and a good person with you. Where the space between you feels uncomplicated and happy. A good relationship is where things just work. They work because, whatever the list of qualities, whatever the reason, you happen to be really, really good together.”
― Deb Caletti, The Secret Life of Prince Charming

“The fact is that we have no way of knowing if the person who we think we are is at the core of our being. Are you a decent girl with the potential to someday become an evil monster, or are you an evil monster that thinks it’s a decent girl?”

“Wouldn’t I know which one I was?”

“Good God, no. The lies we tell other people are nothing to the lies we tell ourselves.”
― Derek Landy, Death Bringer
