What % Good vs. Bad Are You?

Today we will be discussing an important topic How good is your memory? Memory is one of the most components required for functioning normally. Not only humans animals also possess memory. People with good memory are highly rewarded in our education system and they have a pretty easy going school life. There are many different types of memory and the broadest distinction is short term memory and long term memory.

Short term memory is very interesting and is also known as working memory. It is said that working memory is closely linked to IQ of a person which means a person with higher IQ tends to have higher working memory as well. It is important because IQ scores has the highest correlation to success in life. I do get it that is pretty much derogatory to anyone with lower IQ but many scientists and psychologists claim it to be true. While we will not get into that debate since it could be endless because in my opinion we still have not understood the workings of the human brain completely.

“The deceitfulness of the heart of man appears in no one thing so much as this of spiritual pride and self-righteousness. The subtlety of Satan appears in its height, in his managing persons with respect to this sin. And perhaps one reason may be that here he has most experience; he knows the way of its coming in; he is acquainted with the secret springs of it: it was his own sin. Experience gives vast advantage in leading souls, either in good or evil.”
Jonathan Edwards, The Religious Affections

“Do not imagine that the good you intend will balance the evil you perform”
Norman Mac Donald Death Note, Vol. 12: Finis

“Nobody can tell what is right and what is wrong; what is righteous and what is evil. Even if there is a god and I had his teachings right before me, I would think it through and decide if that was right or wrong myself.”
Tsugumi Ohba, A Clockwork Orange

“By definition, a human being is endowed with free will. He can use this to choose between good and evil. If he can only perform good or only perform evil, then he is a clockwork orange – meaning that he has the appearance of an organism lovely with colour and juice but is in fact only a clockwork toy to be wound up by God or the Devil or (since this is increasingly replacing both) the Almighty State. It is as inhuman to be totally good as it is to be totally evil. The important thing is moral choice. Evil has to exist along with good in order that moral choice may operate. Life is sustained by the grinding opposition of moral entities. This is what the television news is all about. Unfortunately there is so much original sin in us all that we find evil rather attractive. To devastate is easier and more spectacular than to create.”
Anthony Burgess, Faust: My Soul Be Damned for the World Volume 1

“If you really want to be different, you’d better keep quiet and be a good person on the inside.”
Michael Bassey Johnson, The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values

“It seemed the world was divided into good and bad people. The good ones
Woody Allen, On the Genealogy of Morals

“Good and Evil are very hard to explain or understand. I’m sure that evil exists, but it is hard to isolate. Good and evil are intertwined and impossible to separate. They are not completely opposites and in fact are often one and the same.”
Keith Haring, Little Moments Of Truth

“We must continually remind ourselves that there is a difference between what is natural and what is actually good for us.”
Sam Harris, Sisterhood Everlasting

“We are noble, good, beautiful, and happy!”
Friedrich Nietzsche, Undetected

“The truth is not good or bad, it is just the truth.”
J.B. Thomas, La Petite Fadette

“Lena wished that love were something you could flip on and off. You could turn it on when you felt good about yourself and worthy of it and generous enough to return it. You could flip it off when you needed to hide or self-destruct ad had nothing at all to give.”
Ann Brashares, Les Misérables

“Please understand something. God didn’t create evil in the world, but He did create free will, which allowed for the possibility of evil. Science isn’t like that. What you explore and find, God did create. It already exists. When you find it, you are discovering something God made. And everything God created is good. God said so in Genesis. He looked around at everything He had made and said, ‘It is very good.’”
Dee Henderson, Be A Good Human

“Being good is commendable, but only when it is combined with doing good is it useful”
Stephen King Deep River
