What Is Your Path To Success?

In our modern lives being successful is one of the most important things in our life. Though the definition of success varies from person to person but in my opinion success has very little to do with money and fame. Money is important in life and to a great extent, it is responsible for your happiness and your overall well-being.

Fame, in my opinion, is completely bs and should not be the parameters of success. It has been seen time and again that celebrities who lose their fame become completely devastated and suffer from some kind of mental illness. It is due to the fact that they have valued peoples’ opinions about them as the primary parameter for their success. When those same people start to hate or forget them they don’t have anything to fall back on. Hence, in my opinion, you could definitely enjoy fame but don’t ever rely on it either to call yourself competent or successful. Fame could become very toxic if not handled carefully.

This is where the philosophers help and the reason why their theories are still so relevant because they have addressed life’s problem’s at a very foundational level. Hence you could change n number of different things in the scenario but fundamentally most of the problems are the same. Our genes have not changed much and we still pretty much function in the same way as our ancestors hence the problems and their solutions remain the same.

Coming back to our topic of success. So what really is success? Money is an essential part as I have mentioned before but the other thing which is even more important is that you need to be that version of yourself who is not made up of projections of others.

If you have not got that let me break it down it for you. We are continuously being influenced by other people’s thoughts and hence at first, we need to cut from all of our external influences and look inwards for what we want from our life. If you have addressed that basic question then only you could be on the path to success.Enough of philosophy for today, play the quiz, and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
Who has left the world better than he found it,
Whether an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had;
Whose life was an inspiration;
Whose memory a benediction.”

“Anyone whose goal is ‘something higher’ must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”
― Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

“Don’t aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one’s surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it. I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long-run—in the long-run, I say!—success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
