Which Cat Breed Matches Your Personality?

Cats are one of the most lovable creatures on the planet. As we have discussed it in our previous articles that each personality type is different and hence each of them loves different species of cats.

Let us discuss a few of the most popular cat breeds in the US.

1.The Devon Rex

They have unusually thin bodies and have big ears. They are very active in nature and also quick to learn any of the tricks you teach them. These cats are not for those who don’t spend much of their time at home.

2. The Scottish Fold

They are one of the cutest cats on the planet. They are especially known for their folded ears. The breed however is not that common but they can easily adapt to any of the weather conditions.

3. The American Shorthair

These cats are one of the best family cats. They are very low maintenance, affectionate and can live longer than 15 years.

4. The Persian

Persian cats are known for high-maintenance because of their luxurious fur coats. The other downside of the fur coats is that you need to comb them daily. They also require bathing once in a week. They are not that active and don’t likes to jump or climb. It is good for those who don’t want to spend too much time with them.

5. The Exotic

It is one of the most popular cats. They are known for their friendly nature and a rounded teddy bear-like appearance. Coupled with low maintenance these are among the best family cats. It is also a great alternative to the Persian since it looks almost the same without those luxurious furs.

There are many other interesting cats that you could consider. It would be best if you do your own research before buying these furred creatures.

“If cats looked like frogs we’d realize what nasty, cruel little bastards they are. Style. That’s what people remember.”
― Terry Pratchett, Lords and Ladies

“I meant,” said Ipslore bitterly, “what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?”
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.”
― Terry Pratchett, Sourcery

“Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”
― Christopher Hitchens, The Portable Atheist: Essential Readings for the Nonbeliever

“What’s your name,’ Coraline asked the cat. ‘Look, I’m Coraline. Okay?’
‘Cats don’t have names,’ it said.
‘No?’ said Coraline.
‘No,’ said the cat. ‘Now you people have names. That’s because you don’t know who you are. We know who we are, so we don’t need names.”
― Neil Gaiman, Coraline

“A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.”
― Ernest Hemingway

“If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.”
― Mark Twain

“Curiosity killed the cat,” Fesgao remarked, his dark eyes unreadable.
Aly rolled her eyes. Why did everyone say that to her? “People always forget the rest of the saying,” she complained. “‘And satisfaction brought it back.”
― Tamora Pierce , Trickster’s Choice

“Name the different kinds of people,’ said Miss Lupescu. ‘Now.’

Bod thought for a moment. ‘The living,’ he said. ‘Er. The dead.’ He stopped. Then, ‘… Cats?’ he offered, uncertainly.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book

“And how do you know that you’re mad? “To begin with,” said the Cat, “a dog’s not mad. You grant that?” I suppose so, said Alice. “Well then,” the Cat went on, “you see a dog growls when it’s angry, and wags it’s tail when it’s pleased. Now I growl when I’m pleased, and wag my tail when I’m angry. Therefore I’m mad.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
