One thing that we all agree to is that animals are loved by all. While cats and dogs are the absolute rulers of the internet but we should also take a look at the rare animals which are fun too.
Let us discuss a few of them.
1.Golder Lion Tamarin
They are cute little monkeys with interesting orange colors. Mainly found in the rainforests of Brazil they are very rare and only 6000 left in the entire world. They weigh around 600 grams.
2.Pygmy Marmoset
They are also from the monkey family and they are the smallest in the entire world. Exceptionally cute animals they live on the treetops of South America.
3.Zedonk
Zedonks are also very rare as they are a breed of, you guessed it right, zebras and donkeys. They are only found in zoos and that mostly in South Africa where zebras and donkeys live in close proximity.
4. Sand Cat
As you might have guessed that they are mostly found in deserts. They only weigh around 5lbs and can easily camouflage in the sand. They are pretty rare though.
5.Mexican Axolotls
They are rightly known as the Peter Pan of animals. These salamanders spends their entire life in their larval form. Only 1200 of them are left and all are found in Lake Xochimilco near Mexico City.
6. Pangolin
These ‘scaly anteaters’ are found generally across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. They live on a diet of ants and termites and can quickly roll themselves into ball when they are threatened.
7. Jackass Penguin
Who doesn’t love a stupidly adorable penguin?!
But the African penguin, also nicknamed the jackass penguin, is only found off the coast of Southern Africa.
The population has rapidly declined by 90% in 60 years.
There are several other funny rare animals on the planet. The sad part, however, is they are depleting fast and we might not be able to see them in a few decades. We need to be cautious about it and take steps to save these rare species from extinction.
“Everybody has a little bit of the sun and moon in them. Everybody has a little bit of man, woman, and animal in them. Darks and lights in them. Everyone is part of a connected cosmic system. Part earth and sea, wind and fire, with some salt and dust swimming in them. We have a universe within ourselves that mimics the universe outside. None of us are just black or white, or never wrong and always right. No one. No one exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them.
PART SUN AND MOON by Suzy Kassem”
― Rise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem
“True human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore only when its recipient has no power. Mankind’s true moral test, its fundamental test (which is deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals.”
― The Unbearable Lightness of Being
“If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot prevent us and because we are backing our own side in the struggle for existence, it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies, or capitalists for the same reasons.”
― God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics
“Man is said to be a reasoning animal. I do not know why he has not been defined as an affective or feeling animal. Perhaps that which differentiates him from other animals is feeling rather than reason. More often I have seen a cat reason than laugh or weep. Perhaps it weeps or laughs inwardly — but then perhaps, also inwardly, the crab resolves equations of the second degree.”
― Tragic Sense of Life
“We’re all animals, high school is animals, but some of us are more animal than others. Like in ‘Animal Farm,’ which I read, all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others? Here in the real world, all equals are created animal, but some are more animal than others.”
