Which Victorious girl are you?

So many of us have memories of waiting to get back home from school, looking at our watch every other minute just to make sure that we are home just in time to switch on the TV and change the channel to Disney and watch our favorite shows. Be it ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’, ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ or ‘Kim Possible’; Disney made our childhood so much better with shows like these. All these shows along with many others ended up shaping our childhood and as we grew up so did Disney.

Earlier Disney focused on movies with themes like good will always triumph over evil and that pretty people are always good at heart. Such themes are not only cliché but also seem quite immature and fortunately Disney has shifted its focus to much more mature themes than before. For instance, Disney’s Zootopia, a film for children focused on casual racism explicitly.

“I’m just a girl.”
Patrick Ness, The Name of the Wind

“I should have been bolder and kissed her at the end. I should have been more cautious. I had talked too much. I had said too little.”
Patrick Rothfuss, The Sky Is Everywhere

“She’s a sun-kissed beach girl who goes gothgrungepunkhippierockeremocoremetalfreakfashionistabraingeekboycrazyhiphoprastagirl to keep it under wraps.”
Jandy Nelson, The Christmas Wedding

James Patterson, The Bells of Bruges

“But you shouldn’t have let her. That’s the only way with these fanciful women that chaw high–innocent or guilty. She’d have come round in time. We all do! Custom does it! It’s all the same in the end! However, I think she’s fond of her man still–whatever he med be of her. You were too quick about her. I shouldn’t have let her go! I should have kept her chained on– her spirit for kicking would have been broke soon enough! There’s nothing like bondage and a stone-deaf taskmaster for taming us women. Besides, you’ve got the laws on your side. Moses knew.”
Thomas Hardy, The Girl

“Can there be anything more sad than a girl dying on the day of her first communion, in her new dress. A little bride of death…”
Georges Rodenbach, The Girl

“Oh God, I’m sorry I bring trouble on people. I don’t mean to, you know that, you know that. And don’t punish me by taking Ned. Keep him safe that’s all I ask. That’s all I’ll ever ask again, just keep him safe.”
Catherine Cookson, This Journal Belongs to Ratchet

“You make your son out to be to be almost an idiot; well let me tell you something, Mrs Loan, if he were a complete idiot, drooling at the mouth, he’d still be a better person then you.”
Catherine Cookson, The Golden Apples

“There was a young girl named Ratchet.
Nancy J. Cavanaugh, Death Comes to the Village

“Don’t want to do a thing, Ran, do we, from now and on till evermore.”
Eudora Welty, Tori Amos – Little Earthquakes: P/V/G

“Let’s just stand still. Maybe whoever it is won’t notice us. It’s dark out anyway.” Both boys knew it could just be someone from the local village but their hearts were starting to beat faster anyways. Who wound be out at this time of night? Suddenly, out from the darkness came a voice. “I’ll get you you mangy little….” There was the sound of something flying through the air and then a plunk as it landed somewhere nearby. Lionel winced. The voice was female.”

“The study smelled of brandy, saddle leather, and the bay rum her father’s valet used after he shaved him. She glanced at the rows of books and imagined herself in Anthony’s place being tutored for Cambridge. Her father always said she was far too intelligent for a girl, but he’d never stopped her from reading any of the books she requested, even the slightly scandalous ones.”
