Who Really Inspires You?

In this ever-increasingly competitive times, we need to be motivated like never before. While getting inspired has nothing wrong in itself, it could get quite addictive if that is your only source of motivation. In my opinion, the only true source of motivation is from inside. If you are not motivated from inside then sooner or later it will fade away.

Assuming you are internally motivated and still seeking some, here is a list of some of the most inspiring people on the planet.

1.Oprah Winfrey

She is the most influential woman currently. Being a multi-billionaire and with so much fame you might think that she always had a perfect life like this but the fact is that she had to overcome some serious obstacles. For one she was born to a poor single mother who had to work hard even to fulfill the basic needs of her family. Secondly, she had faced sexual abuse multiple times during her childhood. She broke through all those barriers and became an inspiration to many.

2.Stephen King

He also comes from a pretty average background and was rejected several times before he got to publish his first novel. He even threw the book to the dustbin but his wife picked it up from and the rest of his history. He had currently sold over 350M copies of his books. It is extremely hard to become an author who had got any of his books published. Even if it gets published it is very less likely that it will remain on the shelves for more than a few months.

3.Bill Gates

As we all know he is the co-founder of Microsoft and had amassed a great amount of wealth from it. In spite of being incredibly intelligent and hard-working, his first start-up failed. It didn’t even operate during the presentation to potential buyers. He didn’t give up at that moment and the rest is history. Though there is also a dark side to his career. He had used all dirty-tricks to create monopolies in the market.

There are many countless other people who could inspire you but the point is you need to get motivated from inside because if you don’t do that then you are only a customer of the self-help industry. More on that later.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
― Frank Herbert, Dune

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“Live the Life of Your Dreams: Be brave enough to live the life of your dreams according to your vision and purpose instead of the expectations and opinions of others.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals.
If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

“Surround Yourself with People Who Believe in Your Dreams:
Surround yourself with people who believe in your dreams, encourage your ideas, support your ambitions, and bring out the best in you.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
